From the main square of Saturnia we leave the town, turning right towards the Thermal Baths, and to the left (Km 2) towards the holiday farm Agriturismo San Leonardo. The road climbs very steeply towards Poggio Murella. At the end of the climb (Km 5.9) we turn right and when we reach the post office we turn left (Km 6.5) and then right towards Catabbio. Here we turn right for Pitigliano-Sovana (Km 10.3), crossing San Martino sul Fiora and then descend towards the plateau. The road crosses the archaeological area of Sovana (Km 20.9), and continues towards Pitigliano, through sections of “vie cave” (roads dug out from the tuff); at the junction for Pitigliano (Km 24.9) we turn right and after a descent followed by a climb we turn left at the stop (Km 29.7); we enter Pitigliano and ignoring the turn-off for Orvieto we leave the main road and continue (Km 30.3) along Via Santa Chiara, towards Sorano. After entering Sorano we continue as far as the first turn-off (Km 38.9), where we then turn left towards the centre where our journey ends, in the main square of the village.
