We depart from the little square at the entrance to Sassetta heading towards Castagneto and turn right immediately for Suvereto. At the first turn-off after the descent (Km 8.3) we turn right for Suvereto, and then right again (Km 10.8); at the next turn-off we turn left for Massa Marittima (Km 15.6), and then left again for Montebamboli. We continue along the main road and at the second turn-off after Montebamboli we bear left (Km 26). After a hump in the road, we descend towards Massa Marittima; at the end of the descent we turn right at the first turn-off with an asphalted road (Km 32), we take a secondary road that runs parallel to the busy state highway; we continue until we reach the end of this road and cross the highway, heading towards Massa Marittima and turn right immediately for Gavorrano Scalo. We come to a stop where we turn left (Km 39.6) and then right at the next turn-off for Gavorrano (Km 46.8). We arrive at the state Aurelia highway and continue, turning left at the next turn-off for Follonica. After about 2 Km we leave the busy provincial road, turning left towards Scarlino - Punta Ala (Km 51.8). We go straight on at the Bagno di Gavorrano traffic light, skirting the village of Scarlino and end our itinerary at Portiglione, at the junction with the road that links Follonica to Castiglione della Pescaia.
