The town of Pisa certainly does not need any introduction; famous the
world over for its extraordinary leaning tower, it also offers a city
that is rich in history and monuments. The surrounding, very diverse,
area extends from the coast, with the Regional Park of Migliarino
San Rossore, to the Green Pisan Mountains to the north, excellent for
light trekking expeditions. As we come down we find the hill area which
from Valdarno arrives at the Upper valley of Cecina, passing through
Volterra, areas suitable for visitors interested in the environment and
culture. The
itineraries presented for this district are part of a collection that
the magazine “Trekking” together with the APT (Provincial Tourist
Authority) of the Tuscan Coast, has dedicated to the most beautiful
trekking routes in this area. A series of itineraries that will help
you discover lovely places and will introduce you to a district that
has great environmental and cultural appeal.
